Keeping children in your care safe online

Online safety guidance for parents and carers

Technology plays a positive part in all our lives, children especially. Whether it's playing games, watching videos, keeping in touch with friends and family and learning about their world.

However, at Online Safety Hub, we recognise it can be daunting for parents and carers. We have compiled three handy tips that can make the online world seem a little less daunting.

Explore together

Get to know about the online activities your child is using and what games they play and how you can make use of the settings and safety features.

Supervise usage

We advise that online activity is supervised; keeping devices in the busy rooms of your home making it easier for you to be involved and on hand to answer any questions.

Make use of parental controls

Understand and use parental controls on your home devices to ensure content is age relevant. e.g. use PIN number controls on the TV to ensure they can only access suitable content.

At Online Safety Hub we run parent and carer workshops aimed at equipping you with the skills and confidence to make the online world a safer, manageable and more comfortable place to learn and play.
