Expertise in Action: Traci Gregory
At the center of this initiative is Traci Gregory, a renowned expert in digital safety and community engagement. Commissioned by Ofcom, Traci is leading the development of a bespoke curriculum designed specifically for the unique environment of football community trusts and outreach hubs. Rather than a one-off seminar, the project utilises a "Train the Trainer" approach. This ensures sustainability by empowering the club’s own outreach staff—the coaches and mentors who already have the trust of local young people to deliver high-impact digital citizenship sessions themselves.
Traci’s work focuses on moving away from "scare tactics" and toward empowerment. Her expertise allows her to translate complex regulatory frameworks from the Online Safety Act into interactive, relatable modules.
When we talk about "Train the Trainer," it’s about more than just a list of "do’s and don’ts." Traci’s real magic is in how we translate safety rules into a language that actually makes sense to a young person. We're building a bridge between the official regulations and the real-life stuff kids deal with every day on their phones.
Her work essentially turns the local football club into a "digital hub," where the lessons learned on the pitch about teamwork, respect, and discipline are seamlessly applied to the digital world.
